The Talented One

"The Talented One"

You're the flavor of the month, taste like Cap'n Crunch
And all the agents here want to take you to lunch
And the paparazzi all follow you home
You're in a bubble now, locked in a dome
You're the man who made a perfect plan.
So overnight you look like the Marlboro Man.

Another billboard graces the scene, like a face in a magazine.

And they sell you out, you're the talented one.
Oh, they can tell 'em how, you're the talented one
But do you believe it now, you're the talented one?  No, no, no...

Now it's limousines, and tabloid scenes.
It drives you mad, makes you want to scream.
Even the maid talks 'bout you on TMZ!

And they say you're overrated
And your early demise is fated
What goes up must come down
And the next young buck just arrived in town!

Another billboard graces the scene.  You wonder if it's all a dream.

And they sell you out, you're the talented one.
Oh, they can tell 'em how, you're the talented one
But do you believe it now, you're the talented one?  No, no, no...

It was just last week I showed up in L.A.
What happened to you?  Even the tabloids don't say.
Did you take the money and run?  Did you eat your gun?
You're a mystery man -- your legend's just begun.
Some say you moved to Paris or Montreal
You overcame the odds -- man, you beat them all!

'Cause I'm on the billboard now, and I know that you're the man!

And they can't sell you out, you're the talented one.
Oh, I can tell 'em now, you're the talented one
Let me tell you now, you're the talented one?  Ho, ho, ho...
Oh, whoa, oh, oh
